Default 883C springer

I am putting a springer front end from TC Bros on my 2006 883C. So far installation is going fine, but I ran into a problem with using the stock riser (see pics). I am not sure what options I have - the speedo unit on the 883C seems to be specific to this riser. Appreciate any suggestions

Barring a different riser, making a relief cut in the riser would be an option. The interference is easy to see.

How difficult is it to cut that material? What tool and would it do something to the finish that then needs further restoration?

or do I try to find a shop that would do it for me?

IMHO you need to get proper springer riser and a bar clamp setup. That involves replacing your current gauge setup. The rods/nuts travel upwards with the movement of the springer and need clear path, probably close to 3" of travel.

Should you decide to go the cutting/grinding/refishing route ant local machine shop should be able to help you. They would need the bike for fitment. If that piece is hollow, all bets are off!

Thanks for the input....I am looking at a couple of options that don't threaten the integrity of the riser:
1. To stay with the HD bar set-up using 3.5" spacing, having a machine shop make a new adaptor as the one from TC Bros is what is giving me the problem
2. Rearrange everything --> ordered a speedo relocation kit from dennis kirk. Hopefully this will also allow me to move the indicator lights (I really have come to hate this integrated set-up). If I can do that, it should free me up to put other handlebar risers that don't interfere with the springs.
----new problem--- I don't know how to mount the headlight as the mount bracket from the sportster triple tree also interferes with the springs. I have to say that I am really not happy with the lack of information/guidance from TC Bros on this. It seems like something they might mention when buying as this is specifically for sportsters in my build year.

Get the right top tree . If it’s off that far it’s a no go. You should be able bolt it up period. Have you contacted TC ?

OK, I have a working solution that I actually like better than the original plan. The stock riser will not work - period. What you see in the picture above is my stock handlebars on risers from TC Bros. I got a speedo relo kit from Dennis Kirk and was able to get individual indicator lights that will fit into the new speedo housing (with a few HD OEM parts thrown in). I am in the process of re-wiring that now, but like where it is going. The next issue was the 883C tank is too fat for the side mounted speedo, so I bought a Drag Specialties tank that is pretty much identical to my Iron - and I like the looks of this much more. So now moving on with that.
Final note - I have only good things to say about TC Bros. I was initially frustrated at the lack of instructions that come with some parts, but they are super responsive on email and phone - even texting pictures back and forth real-time until all questions answered. I am probably on the lower end of the wrenching spectrum but they were tolerant of my many questions and I will be a customer for life with these guys
