I got to reading up on the upgrade to the cartridges and like that whole idea. definitely a price range I can work with to help with a better ride. Ordering them would there be something I would need to know while ordering them. Thinking about the lengthened tubes and what size I would need to get when ordering them. If I'm going to disassemble I may as well do it right the first time.

If you go with legends they offer a kit for +2 fork tubes.

Here's what my weekend turned into. I completely disassembled the from forks. The fork tubes O.A.L. was around 29.250" from end to end. It had an aluminum spacer on each side instead of any PVC type spacers. One side barely had any fluid, with only about a shot glass amount poured out. Both sides the fluid was black as could be. I pretty much just cleaned up everything and put back together for now. I did replace the aluminum spacers with a piece of 3/4" PVC pipe that was a 1/4" longer just to see what difference the ride was. So new fluid on each side with the amount my owners manual called for (10.2 oz). It was rainy here all week end so I didn't get to ride a long time to see how much difference it rode. There was a little difference in the turns just the little bit I rode it. When I get back home this weekend Ill take it on a longer ride and see how it goes.

So now knowing the length of the fork tubes, are these considered the 2" over tubes, or what size would be considered?

That would be 5" over. What were the spacer lengths?

What Brand and WT fork oil?

Been pondering about replacing the front suspension with the monotube type suspension. I see that most websites that I have looked at sell them stock length. How would that apply to the lengthened tubes on my bike. Would I still have to add a spacer like what is in the front end now. Just curious what I would have to order when I decide to do the work.
