2009 Sportster 1200 Low (ECM)
Chase here. I'm new to the forums!

I bought this bike for a steal(not literally) for $950. The guy got tired of trying to fix it.
I believe that the ECM is bad, or the wrong one altogether. The Speedometer and Lamp Assembly is gone as well, as he had started parting it out before I found it. The ECM it has in it is part #32140-08 which, from what I've seen, is for an XR. Would this even work? I don't believe so, but maybe that's the issue. The part number should be 32534-05C or 32534-11(replaced 05c).
The engine does turn over manually, but no power to the start switch. Lights, horn, etc work.

Start by getting power to all of the switches. Check fuse box is clean of corrosion and the relays and fuses are good. Get a speedo or something connected to see what codes are stored. Even perhaps if not the correct ECM so long as it is similar it should provide the 5 volts to the sensors which would be a test of some functionality.
I can't help with the differences in the ECM; of course a dealer would love to sell you a new one. Check ebay, they do come up from time to time.
