Default Opinions on Sportster Bagger

Hello everyone! I’m new here but looking to stay.
I love HD’s and my sportster is the best thing i ever had, and i can talk about them forever.

I would like to see some opinions or tips on what you’d think of my plans for my sportster.

Some background:
-Living in the USA for a year, i return to Europe in January.
-Hording parts for my Sportster because they are hard to find where i come from.

The plan:
So my plan is to build my Sportster into a large souvenir to always remind me of my time here.
Also i love the Road Glide, but will never be able to afford one and i think its too heavy for me. My sportster is awesome but i always was looking for a larger fairing,
then i came across a Wedge fairing (continued below)…

What my sportster looks like now:

What i did to it already (visuals only or the list gets too long):
Roadglide shocks, Blacked out front fork, Drag bar with risers, larger tank swapped from small peanut tank, saddlemen seat, fender chop, led taillights, daymaker and cheap front fairing, some more blacked out parts and details.

The Plan:

Yes that’s right, a sportster bagger.
after seeing the Wedge Fairing in real life i was sold.
a quality frame mounted fairing that fit perfectly to a sportster, provides wind resistance and stability, and looks great.

so i started making my plans.

The stuff i have already collected:
-Wedge fairing with double headlight
-Hammer perf 1250 kit to smash anyone bad-mouthing sportsters (with all the reliability upgrades like oilpump clutch and so on).
-Arlen ness monster sucker black

I haven’t decided on the bags yet, they seem to even out the fairing.
my sportster is a 1992 so it has the curved fender struts, which unfortunately dont fit 99% of the aftermarket fender parts like bags or sissybars.
however there’s cheap amazon hard bags which mount universally and i think they’d work. (Youtube search for cheap amazon sportster hard bags and first 10 results are about them)

So, tell me what you’d think!

I know some of you might not appreciate me taking the classic sportster and turning it into something it wasnt supposed to be, but i think i could really make this into something awesome.

that looks awesome!
even though he built it more in a 80/90s bike way, its great to see the basic form can be done.

im aiming for more of a modern blacked out style.

Consider this , 1200 cc was deemed to be more than adequate to propel this conglomeration of airbrakes in 1971

so why not build a Sportster full dresser ?

I've seen the Wedge fairing and it's interesting. The bags are the issue, as most I've seen work on 2001 and newer Sporties. H-D and others make a saddlebag support bracket but those are for the throw-over leather bags. Maybe you can rig something for the hardbags to work. Good luck.

Yes indeed thats the problem, and i dont like the look of leather.
Amazon sells a cheap pair of bags with brackets that you have to drill out, so you can fit them to any bike, theres some videos of people mounting them to sportsters

well, i thought i’d wait until the fairing is on the bike and see how it looks, but i think i need a bigger tank to make the form work

however the 4.5 is hard to find for the 1992 model, i dont know if the 04-06 tank fits a 92 with the frame change

also it says you need a custom seat for the 4.5G, and i just got my expensive saddlemen stepup lol
