headlight vibrating after installing a extender for fairing
aby suggestions on fix this? it's a 2019 48. it's a below light mount. I added a extender because of the burly brand fairing I got. it's a rectangle pice of flat meter that brings light forward about 2 inch. but now my headlight vibrates pretty bad, I did tighten pretty good. has anyone run across this before?
If you can move the light with your hand and see that thin piece of metal flex then your light will vibrate.
As said above get a piece of 1/2 inch thick Aluminum Bar stock at Home Depot or Loew's etc., cut it to length, using the thin piece as a guide and drill the mounting holes.
thank you everyone yeah it's the one that came with fairing. I torqued it way tighter seems to help. I'm taking it out tonight to see how street signs look. if it doesnt help I'll try to get a better peice.
Maybe some large flat washers under the nut and on the headlamp would dampen the vibration. Spread the load over that thin extension piece. Sandwich it in with washers, use some blue Loctite.
Maybe just a couple fender washers above and below that rear nut would stiffen it up. You can grind off any excess.

thank you everyone, I was able to tighten it and it seems to help. I appreciate the tips but I'm a new rider and don't have the capability to manufacture parts. or know anyone that can.
