Default Battery Replacement

I did a quick forum search and couldn't find a dedicated thread or sticky, but what is a decent replacement battery for an '07 Anniversary XL50 1200?
Are the OEMs all that or is there something better for the price?

I'm looking at buying a Duracell AGM from Batteries Plus and I think they run about $140.

Thoughts?

TIA!

I'm still a fan of the H-D AGM battery. Cost $140 as well. I've had good luck with them and I like that you don't need a cover.

Lots of choices for you.

I have been using Batterymart Big Crank Batteries and have not had an issue. Free delivery and they are made in the same place as H-D Battries.

https://www.batterymart.com/p-big-cr...l-battery.html

$109.95

NOTE:
The above information, while credible, is worth what you paid for it and should not be considered gospel.
Do due diligence, research and have a H-D Field Service Manual before working on your bike.
You will probably have many opinions and suggestions presented; make sure you research the person providing the helpful information as there are some who provide good information that is useful and some who speak out of other orifices with gibberish. You will figure out this quickly.

+1, I used an aftermarket AGM battery and the battery cables would loosen a few times a year and this would lead to arcing that damaged the terminals, and star washers, Loctite, etc did not help. I replaced that with a HD battery from my dealer and no problems since then, no spacers required and no nuts either as the terminals have steel threaded inserts cast into them. I considered going with a lithium battery but am leery of the downsides plus the 8 lbs. weight savings only amounts to about 1% of the weight of me and the bike combined.

If staying with AGM I also go with the HD one. I put new ones in just a few weeks ago now on both machines here. The 2017 starts as I remember it when I bought the bike, hits compression and fires right up.

I have always thought Yuasa was a very good make but somehow the YTX14-L BS which shows as the equivalent just doesn't quite do it when cranking.

I ordered the HD AGM battery last week for my 20 1200 NS. It’s being delivered today. I did research many others, but felt the HD was the best option. About $140.00 with free shipping.

Your stock battery hasn't lasted long, I got seven years out of mine even without using a battery tender.

I currently run the Duracell AGM from Batteries Plus on my SG. No complaints.
