I just picked up a seat from an 05 sportster. I have an 08. The ecm interferes with the seat so Im wondering if anybody has modified (cut) their seat bottom to fit over the ecm? The area where the magnet is where it needs cut to provide more room. Thanks
I really don’t want to open that can of worms. Looks like it isn’t a popular mod. I can just get the proper one but the seat I got is perfect just not the right year.
Then go at it with a Dremel and small die cutting bit, you can be the vanguard! Post up pictures as a how to. Since the ECM is stuffed under the seat, I doubt air flow to cool it is an issue.

After some deliberation and looking I decided not to butcher up the seat bottom.I found quite a few seats for sale and picked up a few. The seats that didnt fit were sold to some other folks in need. Moral of the story patience and the right seat will come along.
