Unhappy 2007 Bobbed Nightster

Greetings to the Forum,
I have a problem I hope you can help me with. I have a 2007 Nightster that was significantly bobbed. I work off shore and had someone work on the bike and had a few electrical problems.
I found a crimped wire, replaced fuses but now the fuel pump is not priming. I have traced the yellow and red wire from the fuel pump to the fuse in #2 position on top. I am not however getting voltage there.

Looking at the wiring diagram I see that power goes into the fuel pump sender assembly via an fuel sender resister assy, is this in the fuel tank itself or is it somewhere else on the harness?
There is a Ignition relay which I think is the top relay and there is a system relay that shares a green and yellow that I have traced to the deutsch connector for the fuel pump and sender assy as well.
Does someone here perhaps have a little guidence for a sporty newbie here? I only have a couple more days off and I really need to go for a ride!

Further developments! The System Relay is not actuating, as the (2012 wiring colors) output of pin #2 of the ECU is not providing ground. If I jump 30 and 87 fuel pump primes and bike runs. On my 2007 this wire is pink and green and it provides 0v to pin 86 to the coil of the system relay.
There is also the white and black 12v going to the other side of the System Relay coil, so I assume that the ECU is working. I have also checked continuity between pin 2 of the ECU and pin 86 of the system relay and its good.
Does anyone have any knowledge of something else that may be in the way of getting my system relay to close?

Further updates: I have orderred a replacement ECU in hopes that something has fried in it. Does anyone have any other suggestions with regard to the problem? If I bridge the switched contacts on the fuel pump (system) relay the pump primes and bike runs. I would assume if that is the case that the ECU is fully functional (except of course the #2 wire that should be providing ground to close the coil. Is there anything else I can chechk here?
