thats great ... i am with you on the entire black and chrome theme .... i have been searchin for some long / extended black drag bars ....
i am not sure about the forward controls ...
i went with the the stock HD engine guards with chrome / black rubber pegs ... adds a really COOL look to the black / chrome theme !!!
I'm not going all black. infact I was going to paint my V&H pipes, but I think til I paint the side covers to match my A/C cover the crome pipes will look better. Gotta have some contrast
the HD black forwards are more than the chrome forwards.....I think HD is cashingin on people wanting black. Although I have heard a few people say powdercoating is getting more expensive than chrome.$400 for a set of forward controls is kind of a ripoff.
If you guys are looking to get show quality powder coating at an extremely reasonable price check out my web site below. I've been a custom powder coater since 1999 an do all the powder coating work for my local Harley dealership. I've also been a mechanic for the past 30 years and won't make stupid mistakes like melting your plastic brake pedal bushings. You are welcome to call Cape Fear Harley-Davidson [910-864-1200]as a reference to my quality and my turn around times average 3-days.
The price list does not include media blasting or powder since those things vary so much with every job, but if you want a price quote from me drop me a line with a list of parts, what type of finish is currenly on them and what color you want.
By the way, if someone paid $400 to get a set of forward controls powder coated they got taken BAD. We don't rip anyone off here, I guarantee that.
Not $400 for the powdercoating, $400 for the complete set of foward controls in black powdercoat from HD. Its still a rip off.
ORIGINAL: powdercoater

They definitely are. Same reason they sell primary covers, etc. in black. They know people with the Nightster wont want the grey ones. I got my black forwards from Chicago HD for $320. If you buy from them online you save 20% right off the bat.
