My bike has been down for paint now for right at 2 weeks and I dont think I can take it any longer. I went out today and got me a jacket, chaps, and a 3/4 helmet for the colder weather. Also started to get the wife all geared up also. BUT HAVE NO BIKE TO RIDE!!! The nicest weather of the year and I can't ride. What can I do to get threw the next few days.. I am thinking lots of sex will help. What yah think?
Get your self a box fan and mount some mini apes on it.... plug it in, set it on your lap, turn it on, close your eyes, and smile....LOL
Sounds like this may be my only option.and if it doesn't work at least I got a good laugh from your post. I think it should be done this weekend. Bad thing is if I dont get the tins by sunday I will have to wait till next sunday to put it back together. My wife works day and I work nights with a 1 and 2 year old so my time to put it together is very limited. I didnt realize how much not having it would bother me. From now on stuff like this happens when there is snow on the ground.
A buddy of mine recently had his Fatboy painted, it took two months... The guy that did it is well known around here, but he is also a friend and did it on the side(works for a car dealer in town) at a very reduced fee, but I can't imagine waiting that long...
The only way to do that is to pick up a set up tins off of ebay for cheap and have them painted while you ride the bike, unless you live where there is such a thing as winter and then do it then...
I've had bikes painted, but only in the off season. My experience with body/paint guys is that they're always running behind. Strip the bike as soon as you get her tucked away for the winter and get the tins off to the body man. If you're lucky, you'll get them back by spring.
Talked to my dad today and the clear will be getting laid down this weekend so I should have it back early to mid next week I think. I really think this paint job is going to rock though. But my dad and him are working together cause I ask questions and they say you will see. I am not worried a bit though. This guys work speaks for itself. I gave him a basic idea and told him to run with it. I asked my dad if he heard anything and he said yes but he isnt saying a thing till I pick the tins up. But he did say I wont be dissapointed and I am sure I wont be. Also ordered me a Tapered round bar sissy bar from our fellow member Bart this week. So it is going to be a totaly diffrent bike real soon.
