I was looking to geta windshield for my 2000 Sportster. I never liked the looks of them, but I really want to extend my riding season. It gets too cold, too fast up here in New England and I figure a decent windshield is a good way to keep fom freezing my a$$ off when it really gets cold. Any suggestions for one that looks decent, is easy to take on & off, offers good wind protection and won't break the bank. Thanks for any suggestions..................Mike
Get the biggest one you can find if is supposed to keep you warm.
I went with the Memphis Shades "Fats", I think I spent around $200. I bought one for the exact same reason you want one.As far as looks, well, I didn't buy it for looks.
HD Compact Quick Detach here. Just installed it last week. The quick detach system is fantastic and it's rock solid when mounted. Don't go with a "Sport" windshield model, because it won't have a mount for a windshield bag (good for tools, papers, sunglasses, i-pass, etc.)
I have a Harley QD windshield thatI can't use anymore because of the driving lights I mounted. If you're interested in it, PM me. It's in really good shape.

I'm interested in seeing pics of the lights you mounted. I've been thinking of changing mine and am in need of some ideas.
Well, I went down to the garage to take some pictures and my good digital camera doesn't work! I'll try and get some tomorrow and post them. In the meantime, the light's I put on are the standard HD Aux Lighting kit p/n 69284-05. They're awesome and really throw a lot of light with the halogen bulbs.
I'm likin'the deep cobalt pearl on your bike - awesome color!
