that's the thing....I have no clue! I got stuck in a thunder storm a week before last saturday, for a total of about 15 minutes and about 5 miles and This is what was there in the morning for me to try and get off.
Ok, so I left it overnite at the dealership and they were not able to get it clean... They have a call into HD to try and get it covered as the Sprocket cover right next to it has none of that going on... so maybe just a defective coating?
my entire crank case on every side is peeling paint. I like the look of raw but polished alluminum. why does Harley paint their motors?
as for the type of paint to use. you can buy a High-Temp rattlecan paint, this stuff goes on like normal, but then you have to bake it to cure it. lasts forever in my experience. I have small 80-250cc motors painted with it that are still clean. not much heat in motors that small, but it's another idea to consider, cheaper too.
Ok, so HD says tough ****! SO I am forced to powder coat, and I am not having done the same color just to have the same thing happen again. Black my Nightster will be!...lol As it should have been in the first place.
