Default Slip on mufflers

Has anyone out there heard the Cycle Shack turn out slip ons and the Vance and Hines slip ons. I want a good deep throaty sound and would like opinions on which would be the best. Thanks

Vance and Hines are louder and Cs are more deep throat.

Vance and Hines will be a little more mellow of you use their quiet baffle. Cycle Shacks are less money but their quality isn't quite as good as V&H.

Two days ago I ordered a set of Cycle Shack tapereds based on a large thread on another forum. (three pages raving about the CS slip-ons) According to it the Cycle Shacks sounded deeper and the V&H were raspy by comparison and the SEs were just not loud enough but had decent tone. I'm after deep and throaty versus obnoxious loud. I'll let you know how it goes after I get them bolted up.

I have SE Is on my XL 883 C. Nice quiet sound. Great mufflers for in the subdivision. I just put Cycle Shacks on my XL 1200 R. Much louder than stock, but definately the desired "Harley" sound. They have a very deep tone when hard on the throttle. At a steady throttle at cruise, they are quieter, but you still know you have custom pipes. I have to "ease" out of the subdivision with the Cycle Shacks. They also added to the useable torque in the 2,500 to 4,000 rpm range. They are not quite the heavy duty/quality the V&Hs are, but for the price difference, I am very satisified with them. They look as good on the bike as any brand of slipons. BC

And why would that be? Any info?
