On a long tripsI like to stop when I hit reserve but just going for a ride depends on:
How far I have left to go & who is waiting for me
How interesting the area is
How hungry or thirsty I am
If there is a big blue light behind me or I have to pee real bad.

I usually stop every 100 miles. It doesn't matter if I'm onthe Sportster or Softail. I usually pull into a gas station to fill up and stretch my legs for a bit. Even if I'm not hurtin', it's still nice to stretch to so I don't wind up hurtin'.
