Do you know if you have to replace cable with 10" mini-apes? I have a set that came with my bike, but not sure if I want to put them on, I might want to go the drag bar route........what are the pros and cons of each?
Here is the link to the bars with part number, I saw this AFTER talking with the parts guy and installing them. In his catalog we didn't see anything about needing anything extra as far as cables go, but the last bit of this one says XL requires additional components. Part # is 56075-07
With 10" bars you probably won't have to change anything, the metal portion of the brake line will need to be reshaped (had an indy do mine). All of the electrical cables works fine, HD left extra slack on the '07-08s. You may have to reroute your throttle/idle cable if it's inside the fork like mine was. As for the clutch cable, I just pulled up some of the slack and voila, done. I can go lock to lock with no binding or pinching on any cable or wire. I know plenty of people suggested new cables, and at some point I'm sure I'll change. Everything works and buttoned up nicely so I see no need to spend more money on it.
Good luck with all the new bar changes I see coming!! Oh, and post pics when you get em done. Viva la Apes!!
