well ilt happened today i got run over goin to lunch. i think the sporty might be totaled lot of damage mainly the left side. rear tire(i was rearended turning in to the mexican resturant) got the rear fender, the rear seat frame possibly the swing arm? 3 out of 4 turn signals,speedo, the lower part of the front forks with the stop on it, the gas tank, headlight pegs on the left hand side, handlebars etc idk but im pretty sure it will be totaled. to top it off my left arm is broken(my painting arm) and my right shoulder is gonna be stiff. for a while i can paint but i usually dont use it for painting guess ill get that arm up to par and be able to go back 2 work.

I remember reading somewhere online that most motorcycle accidents happen when the bike is turning right and/or under 30 mph. In the article it said you should always look in your mirrors behind you when coming to a turn stop or whatever as most drivers are gazing past you and never even really know you are there because of the narrow foot print that you and the bike portray. They go on to say that if you see a car approaching from behind fast, gun it.
This could be all wrong as I have no experience, but I did read the article from someone having many years experience.

That does sound reasonable. I always try to keep an eye on my mirrors and flash my brake light as a car approaches, at least at a stop sign or light. I can sure see where turning your attention is going to be on the on-coming traffic...
