Default Winterizing?

What is this winterizing thing I keep hearing of?I live in Cleveland,Ohio and I've never "winterized" my bike.I've never even put that winter gas additive in it.I put the bike in the garage and just go out and start it every week or 2.Let it run for 1/2 an houror so.If you put it away for the entire winter you miss out on those days of 40-50 degrees during the winter.I couldn't just put it away and wait till next year to ride.Thats crazy!!!!

And for all you new members, remember to check your anti freeze before it gets real cold

Yes.... good advice... Also be sure your turn signal fluid doesn't freeze up on ya.... that can be a real bugger [8D]

I just leave a sun lamp running in the garage over the winter.

Should I change the air in the tires or will the old air be OK?

Go to your liquor store. Buy a case of Wild Turkey 101. Consume large quantities. The bike will be fine on it's own in the garage.. or if you are REAL worried... bring it in the living room. It makes a great conversation piece while consuming large quantities of Wild Turkey.[sm=alcoholic.gif]

Real answer... get a battery tender and keep that on it in-between rides.

Booey your have been very lucky all of these years. Four bucks for a bottle of additive can hurt can it? The way gas is all it take is one bad batch and your carb gets gumed up. It's a good thing you only have one not four. As far as running it your letting condensation build up in your exhaust and crankcase plus your making a nice warm place for mice to come and live. They like air boxes, exhausts and seats....good luck with that.
