Just a feeler - anyone interested swapping your Nightster for my Custom (2005 XL1200C Rich Sunglo Blue, 2000 miles - perfect cond)? I love my bike, but I am bitten by the looks of the Nighty!
3Power, I too was bitten by the N bug until I rode one at the dealer. All you N owners don't get me wrong, I love the looks of the bike and I am sure if I had taken a bit more time with my buying decison maybe I would have gone the N way. When I was at the dealer, I test rode one, they had just got 10 of them in and they were selling fast. The sales guy tried very hard to get me to buy one but once I rode it I was sure it was not right for me. I am 5'10", 250 lb and it felt like I was riding a tri-cycle, it had my legs folded up like a pretzel and was very low to the ground. I told the sales guy if he would put forward controls on it and let me test ride it I might be interested but he would not. I am not surehow it would have felt with the forward controls installed but after I test rode the 1200 Custom it was like putting on a nice fitting glove.
Just my 2 cents 3Power, not trying to get you to change your mind but just saying....
3Power, you may very well be correct depending on your body size. I will keep posted here to see if we get anyone here who has installed forward controls on an N and their body size.
I'm 5'10" - 215 lbs and have the 1200N with forward controls and love the feel of the bike. A lot of people complain about the suspension but I don't see why. Ofcourse I ride on nice rodes and try to stay away from bad ones
Might be interesting in swapping, I have a `07 Nightster Vivid Black, Cycle shack, retro grips, 50 Anniversary emblems..shoot me some pictures by mail...by the way I live in Fl..
