Default Wheel Installation Kit

I am ordering a new front wheel for my sporty. The HD catalog says that I need to order a seperate "wheel installation kit". Can anyone tell me what is included in this $69kit other than probably bearing spacers? According to the catalog, an installation kit is required for most of the wheels listed.

Unless the actual bearings and sealsare included in the kit(theySHOULD come with the new wheel) $69 seems like way too much. The only other parts to the wheel you would need arespacers. The center race should be in the replacement wheel or you can use the old one.Actually you can probably use your old spacers as well.

I changed my 19" front wheel on my Sporty to a 21" without an "installation kit"

Give me the part number of the install kit. I'll look up a kit breakdown and tell you what all is included.

may i ask where your ordering your wheel from?? hd dealer??? depending what type wheel your looking for. lightningstar or thunderstar, then you need to check ebay and save a bunch of money.purchased my lightningstar for 150.00 new in the hd box. it had bearings and spacer for an 05 dyna in it. so all i had to buy was the bearings on ebay 20.00 plus shipping!! and you can get the 3/4" spacer for about 8.00 from your dealer.
but should you still want to buy from hd dealer, lokk up chicago harley davidson.com all there parts are 20% off. good website for checking prices if you have hd#'s to go by..
back to your original question the wheel kit is basically the 2bearings and spacer
cheaper to buy seperately.
if you have any more questions feel free to email me at vernons9358@sbcglobal.net

should you need the bearings for the wheel you decide on. here is the ebay item# 230147487278
for the sportster3/4" bearings and their priced 20.00 a set plus 7.50 shipping. i bought a set just a couple wks back for my new wheel. maybe somebody else might need a set of bearings!!
unless your selling your old wheel just use your old spacer that is between the bearings

Thanks, the P/N is 43833-07. I've searched the net for a couple of hours but can't find anything that
describes what's in the kit. I know anything HD is $$$ but even from Zanotti this kit is $60 and that seems
really high if it's just 2 bearing spacers.

I bought a brand new Harleywheel off of e-bay. it was in the originalh-d box. it had the plastic wrapping on it. it didn't appear to ever being out of the box. it had the brg already pressed in the wheel. I don't believe you would need a brgwith a new wheel.

OK heres the deal, you buy a wheel it may or may not have bearing in it , sportys use 3/4 frt. 1' rear. 04-08' if the wheel comes with sealed bearings of the wrong size they will have to be removed and new onespressed in and a bearing spacer of the same size. harley bearings are $25ish each spacer$8ish. off brand bearing will cost less but the harley ones are better qualityIMO. the spacer goes in the center of the hub. I just went through this when i put a 19'mirror finish thunderstar on the frnt of my 06 1200C w/metzler 880 tire.

Thanks, I think that's the info I'm looking for. I just bought a 19" Thunderstar off Flea Bay that included the 3/4" bearings that I need. What is confusing is that in the HD catalog, if you order the wheel by model and year it seems to include the bearings. ie. the front wheel for an 04 vs an 06 have different P/N's and the only difference is the bearing size, yet there is still a note that the wheel installation kit is needed.
