I have always dreaded that with dogs. I have had dogs charge me when riding. I am glad he is ok. The machine can be repaired. Is there a law in your area that states dogs must be secured and not let to roam? There could be a liability issue on the part of the owner. Its the dogs owners neglect that got thedogkilled and injuredyour husband.
I'd find it hard to go for the throat with the owners of the dog; they have lost something that cant be replaced and is not freely available on ebay or HD. Ya cant kick a man while he is down, if that dude has kids, their night is probably not going too well for them all right now.
Sad to hear, but I'm glad that he's going to recover. I wish that all dog-owners in my neighborhood could read this story. There are a bunch of loose animals around here... cats and dogs.
I think that it's only a matter of time before I end up hitting one in the Wrangler or on the Sporty.
Yes, I feel sorry for the dog. However, if the owner gave half a crap about the dog, it wouldn't have been running in the street! I've seen this a zillion times. Would you let your 2 year old child wander unsupervised in your yard? My two dogs, (my children to me) are spoiled rotten. I treat them like children. I have a fenced yard, and they do not run loose, EVER! I just hope the a-hole doesn't get another dog, that he will let run loose on the street.
I have had to do some split second stunt work to miss cats. Irresponsible pet ownership is a problem. We have neighbors who allow their rotten cats to sneak around the neighborhood killing everthing in sight and bitting children who haven't lived long enough to know how vicious these things are.
Thank God your husband wasn't hurt any worse. We have problems with damn squirrels running out in the street in my neighborhood. I'd like to squash their nuts.
