glad he is ok.....get better soon... as for the dog the way i see it sue the people.... if you have a dog keep it in your yard fince or chain cause if it ***** in my yard i will shoot it... their is a feller by my house was riding his little kid on his bike and a dog went to chasing them..he had to stop his bike and go to their house and make them put their dog up....well a few days after that the dog went after me and almost made me reck, but i did not....i pulled in my driveway went inside and got my gun to shoot the dog,but it was gone......if i catch that dog on the street i will kill it!!!!!
Sorry you have to have such a crappy experience when all you were trying to do was to enjoy what love to do! Your in our thoughts, and we wish BOTH of you the best, and hope that your path back to the street is a quick and happy one....
Any dog that chases vehicles is a hazard to himself and others. I've owned several dogs but never without a good fence to keep them contained....Cats are impossible to keep contained.....I've trapped many, many neighborhood cats and hauled them to the pound.
The second day I owned my RKC I was riding to work for the midnight shift....55 MPH...Too late to react, I hit an armadillo square in the azz....Thank God I hit him square....The front forks bottomed and the rear tire bucked but the only blood and guts was his all over the bottom and sides of my bike.....I played hell getting it off my exhaust once it had cooked....If I had been on my Sporty with it's narrow front tire, I'd be history.
I've since added HD driving lights to the RKC and replaced the main bulb with silverstar ultra. I don' bother to ride the Sporty at night in this neck of the woods...too many critters and road debris....it's routine to see a tree log laying in the road that fell from a logging truck. One day I watched a whole 1500LB round bale of hay fall off a trailer and roll along till it flew apart.....then the hay stayed on the road forever till traffic finally ground it away....Hay is slick as ice.
Hope your husband recovers. Glad the dog has been removed from the gene pool.
glad he is ok, I would not think the guy let his dog out on purpose. however, the dog was out and caused the damage. I dont think I would sue, but I would ask him to pay for the damages. If he is a good guy but does not want to pay I would sue for what it cost me in repairs and medical bills. If he, well or she, is rude then I would sue for damages to include my face.
As far as cats running loose, I always did my best to keep ours in. someone down the street let theirs out all the time along with their dog. I asked after the first time i had prints on the hood of my wife's mustang. The second time I just caught it and took it to the pound.
I am glad to hear your Hubby is ok. I would be soooooangry at those dog owners though. They are the ones to blame for this whole incident. That's why most communities have bylaws for pets running loose. Had that dog been penned up or under the control of it's owner, he would still be alive. That's just sadwhen something this tragis happensbecause of an owners neglect.
sorry to hear about the accident. glad your husband it okay.
i am a dog owner. my dog is never, ever out off a leash or out of the fenced yard. it is the owners fault their dog is dead. they are liable for your husbands injuries, medical bills, and repair of the bike. Make them pay!! the accident was absolutely caused by negligence of the dog owner. others say don't kick them when they are down, i say screw that, make the lesson stick by having them pay for what they are responsible for.
this type of stuff pisses me off.
good luck, again sorry to hear about this senseless crash that should have never happened
