On my 06 1200-C the throttle cables bind with the shield on when I turn it all the way to the right. On my 2000 1200-C with this same shield I had no problem. Touring Windshield num 58441-96. I know it's because they had to run the cable around the turn signals on the handlebars. I did the turn signal relocation, but the throttle cabes are still in the way.
Any one of you have this problem with handlebar mount signals and your windshield on ?...
I didn't have a problem with my windshield install. Did have to relocate the clutch cable as per instruction sheet. The throttle cable has no bind in it. Do you have any excess cable hiding down below or in the frame that you can pull up to give you a little extra travel?
Thanks.
My cables run inside the fork by the headlight. Looks to be the standard location. I have no excess cable to work with. But it has a plastic guide behind the ignition switch, if I could get that out, it might give me the play I need. I'm not sure.
I was thinking this was a common problem on bikes with handlebar mount signals, but it dont look that way. Just my bad luck I guess.
If some one else has had this problem, please let me know.
Thanks...
GP
Got the quick release windshield on my 05 883C. Had to tweak the clutch cable a bit but that was all. The throttle cable does bump against the plastic piece on the windshield bracket when going in and out of a full turn but no catching or binding.
