Its possible that your choke (enricher) was damaged or not replaced properly during repairs. The damage to your bike was on the left side. If the choke remains on, your bike would start OK but begin running badly and quit after several miles, then start OK after it cooled off and the excess gas evaporated. This would occur if your choke cable were damaged or not adjusted properly, or the starter enricher valve (at the carb end of the choke cable) were damaged.
Another possibility is the vacume situation, already mentioned. It also may be a matter of rechecking your work on the carb. Good luck with your bike and women!!

Get a new girlfriend and while your at it get a new bike. What a minute is your girlfriend is a MAN to pick it up that many time and you could stop her.
