Default How many people do their own work on their bikes?

I was just curious. It seems to be a toss up in this forum.

I haven't had the dealer to any work on my bike. But I've only done A/C, exhaust, forwards, Thundermax, new seat, and mini apes. I'm going to give it a shot at doing my cams, too. I'm lucky to have a good place to work and a Dad who is a heck of a mechanic and more than willing to help me.

There's an independant about a half mile down the road from me.He's very reasonable, and I've let him do some things on my other bikes.

Got that right. Gotta know your limits, but do everything you can.

I do everything that I can. I don't know what I would not try to fix because there is only one person that I trust completely when it comes to my rides.

I've only had a little work to do so far, but what I have, I've done myself or with the help of my neighbors who ride.

Always have and always will. It used to be part of riding one.
