Default Carbed 06 wont start need help

I went out to start the bike after maybe 4 weeks of shizzy weather. Tender was on, everything lights up just fine. Starter bangs around, but no ignition. I gave it some gas. nothing. any ideas?

I just read that I should try taking of the airbox and holding my hand over the carb, forcing it to suck real hard. gonna try that.

Open petcock, Jack the throttle around a few times, pull enrichment out, press starter... Make sure kill switch is in the run position and try again... also make sure there is fuel in the bike! Enough fuel to satuarate the petcock fuel filter..

If it still fails to fire, twist the plug wire bootsaround the plugs a couple times to assure a goodcontact then try again.

Keep us informed...

Corrosion on the battery or frame ground? Float bowl dried out? mouse house in the air cleaner?

When you pull the air box off, look in the carb throat and twist the throttle. You should see a squirt of fuel with the throttle twist.

Pull the plugs and see if they are wet with fuel (flooded)

With the plug out, reattach the wire and ground the base of the plug. Turn the engine over and see if the plug has spark.

Mine takes a little bit for the carb to fill with Gasoline after sitting. Then again I run mine with the petcock off till it runs out before putting it away.

I'm curious as to why you run the float bowl dry when you park the bike. Seems like all the extra cranking required to produce a vacuum at the petcock so that it will refill the float bowl is awful hard on that little battery in the Sporties. Or do you just due this for long term storage?
