Swap that 21" wheel for a 19" The savings in tire replacements will quickly pay for the new wheel. I replaced my first Metzler front tire about 3 weeks ago.
I got over 28,000 miles on that front tire. Am Averaging a little over 16,000 miles on the rear Metzler tires.

I just changed my first set and had right at 11,000 miles on them. For quickness and convenience, I just had the stealer replace the stock Dunlops. However, when I need to replace these I plan to change to a 19" front rim and install ME 880's.
2orangeharleys.com offers an Ultma 19", 40 spoke, chrome rim for 2000-2007 Sportsters for $139. Cheapest rim I've seen, if they're any good.
