Default 1200n Engine Ping
about half throttle i get an engine ping not sure what it could be wondering if i should check the primary oil level or switch oils it really scares me when i hear it.maybe i should change to a thicker oil any suggestions?

What octane gas are you using? sounds like you are running 87 and should be 91+

+1 If it is "Pinging" it has nothing to do with oil.

should i add octane boost i was thinking if was an oil problem i would hear it all the time but thats not the case.

You may have to go thru a tank or two of 91 octane before it stops. So don't go back to the regular.

had simialr prob. sitting at a light i would rev it up and hear a nasty ping. took it back to dealer. they said i had bad gas. they cleaned lines and drained tank. now i only use named brand gas and only high test. been cool ever since.
