I have an '08 Nightster with 8400 miles on it and I noticed today that is was riding rough like it was bottoming out the front suspension. I looked at it during lunch and I can hold the front brake and rock it 2 or 3 times and bottom out the front pretty easy. Also picking it up off the jiffy stand it is fine then when I put weight on it, it drops and when I take off that weight it doesn't come all the way back up! I checked and there are no leaks on the front forks or any evidence of a leak. Anyone have any ideas what to do?! I hope if it needs a repair it is something I can do myself can't aford it to be down for too long. It is my daily driver.
I called the Stealer and they said that they do not do loaner bikes and to bring it in. They also asked about my 5k service which I did with the help of a buddy of mine who is VERY knowlegeable of bikes. Anywayshe said that if I can provide the receipts for everything for my sevice then it should be covered. So now the thing is I have to try to find them. I know I have them and everything and I know I should have a file for all that stuff which I very well may have done but I honestly don't remember. So I guess the hunt is on tonight. That same buddy of mine is going to come down this weekend if needed. So I know I can get it fixed it is just a matter of how much $. Thanks for the quick responses.
That is bs, there is nothing in the 5000 mile service that has anything to do with the front end other than checking fall awayon the front end. Tell em to stop effin you around and fix it.
