Default Stalling....
My 2008 XL1200N with 250 miles on it is stalling in the first 2 minutes of idle... (mostly while I'm backing out ofmy gravel driveway which is time consuming). Call me a newbette - this is my first bike and my first 250 miles of riding, but is this normal? I'm having the pipes put on next week with the new air cleaner kit and stuff, should I have it looked at then?

Sounds like it's not warmed up. Give it a little bit of choke.

My 08 Custom has done that a couple times when its been cool outside (40's) and the bike isn't warm, which is exactly what this sounds like. It wouldn't hurt to mention to the mechanics, but to me it just sounds like the engine is cold.

What the others said...I let mine warm up about 5 min. before heading out.

at around 45 degrees, let the bike idle for 2-3 minutes
