What is the best way to brake loss header bolts? I'm getting my ShortShots next week and would like to put them on ASAP. I have worked/dabbled w/ car engines but they are more forgiving and I don't want to start my motorcycle dabbling off by rounding off or stripping my header bolts. Thanks for any help/advice you can pass on.
What he said. And when you go to remove the bolts use 1/4" inch drive rachet. I used 3/8" without the PB Blaster and broke off the bolt in the head. Needless to say it was an expensive learning experience. You'll love the Shortshots.

They're nuts, I dont remember what size. Spray some PB Blaster on them and let it sit for like 10 minutes...they'll come off like butter.
With your fingers. Seriously though they are only nuts 10mm I think. Yeah, I know metric. Unless they are real crusty it shouldn't be a problem. They only get torqued to 120 inch lbs. max.
bowenammg, I'm waiting on my shortshots also, your post sounds just like me.LOL. I have messed with cars my whole life and have not worked on a bike before. I'm constantly lookin on here for all the info I can get. It's just too expensive to have the dealer do it and I'm a penny pincher to boot. Hopefully both our projects go smooth. LOL
