I am attempting to install my Lindbars myself since it seems like an easy three bolt install. After opening the box and looking at the instructions I have a few questions. Do I remove the floorboards completely including the brake levers and clutch shifter in order to install? The instructions only say to loosen the bolts. Also, which loctite should I use, red or blue? Thanks for any help
thanks for the info....the floorboards def will have to come off to install the bars, I guess they tell u to loosen them so that you have support for the brake at all times instead of just removing both brackets completley and having the weight of the boards pulling on the master cylinder. A problem I ran into tho is the Torx bolts thatt Harley seems to have welded on! I tried removing them but I'm not sure if I have the right size....Kuryakn mentions a T45 but there is some play in it, and since they are tight there is a real chance of stripping them. Anyone have any idea if they are T45 size?

from what i have read YES you have to remove them all the way and be careful, the white locktight that HD uses seems like it welds it to the bike so so best bet is to carefully heat the bolts with a torch to loosen the locktight..
a member of the switchback site ended up having his round out and he had to take the bike to the dealer to have it installed.
thanks again, I took my time and carefully broke the bolts free....now I'm considering replacing each one with a stainless hex head which might not be prone to slipping
