Default Engine Guard Covers

My wife is getting tired of wet feet. Anyone have any decent nylon rainchaps on their engine guards? If I have to getleather than I will but I figured the nylon is cheaper and folds up easier. For some strange reason Harley doesn't make them for sporsters.
Thanks in advance

Wait for Laconia I seen em there last year on an engine guard for sale but I would think that they would sell just the cover not the whole package. I seen em in one of those tent sales, you know what I'm talking about. There like carnie sales people who return each year and still manage to have the same stuff I'm bringing plenty of cash this year for turkey legs and junk parts.

LOL...Problem is the ride up to Laconia. I need them before the 19th. Just ordered the bars form Harley. I saw the Desert Dawgs for 100 bucks. Just looking to see if anyone has the nylon ones for cheaper. We always get caught in that damn rain.

how about two nylon helmet bags with draw strings haha. Good luck with the hunt, I'd say ebay but this is 2008 and I'm sure you already hit that option up.

Go to www.chilhowee.net
Chil is a forum member. I have his leather lowers on my Low Rider and they are top quality gear. On the sig pic.
Otherwise, go to the dealer and get her a set of gators for about $50.00

Here's where I got mine. Good people to deal with in my experience. YMMV.

http://www.akamotorcycleaccessories....rd_chaps.shtml

Marine vinyl. $89. Sage Brush is the brand name. I like 'em. But you're gonna have to watch the area between the front pipe and the engine guards. After having these on all winter, there's a melt mark on the chaps in that area. No, it did NOT melt to the pipe, and it didn't melt through. But let's face it, Leather handles heat better than vinyl, and Chilhowee's engine guard chaps are bull hide, and only $50 more. But the marine vinyl is lighter, and it has quick detach buckles. You just have to make sure to either tie off the excess nylon strap length or do a "cut and burn" fix, i.e. cut the excess strap length and burn the ends to prevent fraying. I tie mine off.

It's not a magical fix, but it does help. Ya know, the gaitors might not be such a bad idea, either! Combined with theengine guard chaps, the gaitors will definitely help, too. If you don't want to go to the dealer for them, reputable outdoor stores have them. I know REI carries them.

Thanks...I did see these on line too. Maybe that is why Harley doesn't make them for Sportsters due to the heat. The front pipe extends past the frame while on my other bikes the pipe is behind the frame.

Harley aproves theres up to a certain outside temp. I don't remeber what it is but if you look on line to buy them they state the temp range in a warning. I just plan to keep them on in the rain or winter.
