I have a daytona 3/4 helmet being delivered today...
My buddy has one of these and a Shoei from the 70's and the shell looks almost exactly the same, plus its actually a little smaller profile because they have 3 different shell sizes, not just one shell and more padding for smaller sizes. I like it, definitely looking forward to getting it and taking the dorky visor off .
I have a vega xts I like it it fits nicely and doesn't have an extreme mushroom effect. Someone I work with (she has some bike knowledge) asked me where I got a helmet that was so small.
I have a question. Are you looking for the lid because you want to protect your head, or is it because you have to wear a lid in your state and protection is not important?
Cuz, let's face it... No half lid is gonna do much in a crash. Except save your hair-do. Then again, if your bald, there ain't nothin to worry about, right?
Just don't buy the German WWII style. They are the ones in question.
What's wrong with those helmets? I think if you can find the lo-pro ones they look pretty sweet.
Greg
I never said anything was wrong with them. However, if any helmet looks like a mushroom head, that would be it.
Gotcha... I was under the impression that when people refer to "mushroom" it's because of how tall the helmet sits up on there head... not because the helmet is shaped like a ********... lol.
I believe when someone says mushroom head they are usually referring to how far it sticks out on the sides from your head, the farther it sticks out the more of a mushroom head it makes you look like.
