Granted my rear fender is bobbed, but it came off of an 02, looking at the picture I honestly don't see why you couldn't add the 1" kit.&nbsp\\; Plus if you buy it&nbsp\\;from that ebay link the seller will let you return it if it doesn't fit....

&nbsp\\;SkullMan can shorten your 11" shots to 10" for a few bucks. They don't rub in the fender but they do ride fairly bad. &nbsp\\;

I too&nbsp\\; have the 11 " progressives,, I am not so sure mine are set properly as when I hit bumps I almost fall off the bike at times.. I dont think they are any better then my stock, but they did lower it some.. I want to put on those ebay things but dh thinks my tire "might rub" . I also was told from someone if I lower the backend I need to lower the front end too or it wont handle right? is this true? I put on a mustang seat and it raised me up so now I need to get back down. I had on a lepera but my butt couldnt take it. I have an 883L. Do those ebay things cut down on the comfort of the shocks?

ORIGINAL: Lundee

I just put 11" progressives in the rear and 2" lowering springs on the front of my wifes 883r, we'd like another inch lower in the back.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Is this ok if I tighten up the preload a little bit and use a 1" drop bracket?&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Also were do you get a shorty kick stand I think I"m gonna try and bend the one on there a little bit w/ some heat.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Any advice/ Thanks
First I wanna say you have a BAD *** BIKE man!&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; And secondly, yes, that will work.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; I actually just did a 1" drop on my front end with Progressives last night, but my front end is raked so I didn't need 2"....and my lowering blocks are in the mail as of today.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; 1" on the rear.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Next payday I'm picking up 11" progressive 412's to seal the deal (I have 11" crap shocks right now).&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; You're actually keeping the geometry of the bike just about the same in doing so.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; And as for the kickstand...I'd try it first...I kept my stock one and it still sits at about 80* without modification when parked.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; If it ends up being too high after you're done, get a kickstand for a rigid Sporty...they're made for bikes that sit low and they're commonly available from many places online.

As for fender rub...it will most likely happen in some cases but tightening preload up will keep it from happening all the time.&nbsp\\; Course...you COULD always go the route I did and eliminate it all together .&nbsp\\; It can't rub if it's moving with the swingarm.

you have plenty of room... did you look at a tarmack kit... or changing the the mounting location for the shock... the re weld the peg about an in back and that will SLAM that rear end... you have room to play... unless she is a bigger girl you will not have to worry about rub on the fender except when you hit hard bumps... mine is REALLY slammed with the air shocks and then when i sit on it, drops it another 1.5 in... i just spray a coat of rino liner under the fender once a year and that seems to do well to protect what little wires i have left under there... dude.. how can you have all that work done to your ride and your girl is still rocking stock wheels... lets pull them off and powder coat them to match the bike love the Train, very much my style! very nice!

6066er&nbsp\\; Voted for you bike awhile back that thing is sick.&nbsp\\; I've put in an order for the 1" lowering kit.&nbsp\\;So here we go.&nbsp\\; Rub or no rub we'll find out&nbsp\\; JRK5892&nbsp\\; Nice rides as well.&nbsp\\; The rims, trees, strut covers, sprocket and a few odds and ends are going to the PCer shortly along w/ bobbed rear and tire hugging front soon too.&nbsp\\; And some real pipes those are home made the bazookas on it looked terrible.&nbsp\\; I've only had it for a week and were headed to Jackson Hole tomorrow so we'll get it all lined out when we get back.&nbsp\\; Sick bikes on the sporty pic thread too!&nbsp\\; I never new how much sick stuff was going on w/ these bikes.

I had 10" short shocks from licks on my bike with a custom bobtail fender...not so good.&nbsp\\; But, with the stock fender there was plenty of clearance.&nbsp\\; I have 11" 412's now on the lowest setting and they don't come anywhere close...Stock with 10's you should be fine..but its a rough ride.

AFter raking out the front, i needed the 1" shorter kickstand.
Ebay around $35 or so, do not remember.
&nbsp\\;
Stock kickstand make the bike stand up almost str8.
