EXHAUST
I WANT TO GET NEW EXHAUST FOR MY 97 XL CUSTOM SPORSTER W/ FORWARD CONTROLS, BUT I AM HAVING A HARD TIME FINDING A SET THAT MAKES A STATEMENT AND SOUNDS GOOD. I LIKE THE VANCE AND HINES SIDE SHOTS BUT THEY ONLY FIT 04 AND UP. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A SET THAT IS LIKE THIS THAT HAS SOME KINE OF HEAT SHIELDS AND LOOKS GOOD. I DONT WANT THAT CLASSIC LOOK. THANKS FOR THE HELP.

Hey Elk, I'm not sure what part of the country you're in, but Grumpys Customs will do whatever you want. He'll ship them to you if you're not close enough to get by there.

Hi: I just got through putting a set of Vance and Hines Straightshots on my 97 1200c Sportster and they sound great. I received some really great reviews about them on this forum They also have full 220 degree heat shields from the header to the muffler. I put forward controls on my bike earlier and looked everywhere for some good exhaust pipes that would fit my bike. I bought mine on ebay from ChoppersinStuff for 299.00. You can listen to them on vanceandhines.com. Just my 2 and a half cents. [sm=teetertooter.gif]

just installed on my 06, samson big guns 3. they sound incredibly awesome, much louder and deeper than i was expecting. i dont think they make the BG3's for the pre03 sportys, but i know samson makes some pipes for your bike. you wont be displeased with their products.
