I also started taking my bike to work (just took and passed BRC this past week). \\; From my dads its about 30 miles round trip and from my moms its 60 miles round trip, you can calculate the savings with the bike over my 98 dodge ram with the 360. \\; The only problem I have is basically on any ride I take (even during BRC) I get a pain in my leg, upper part near the hip joint. \\; I'm not sure why but I don't feel it in my right side, but thats another thread I'll make.
 \\;
Yeah, but last year on the national ride you bike to work day, I was gonna. \\; She really balked when I started from the garage into the kitchen. \\; I don't understand!!!! \\; What's the problem???
I commute 50 miles round trip daily on our lovely LA freeways, 210, 134 and 101. \\; You definately have to have your head wired tight but it's a great experience. \\; I split lanes when traffic is at a standstill but stick to the HOV lane whenever possible. \\; I will say that since I have added louder exhaust i have been a lot more comfortable (please let's not start that debate again) but a little burp on the throttle to let people know i'm coming has helped at times. \\; I don't try and force my way through traffic, if there is a chance I won't fit or will get cut off I don't take the chance. \\; And I do exactly what JosephGarcia does, keep eye contact, not to be menacing or rude, just to make sure that we know each other is there. \\; Riding the 134 some nights is a great experience, the smell of fresh skunk, steaks on the grill, bread baking, all the great things we people on two wheels get to experience. \\;
Have fun and be safe, if any other LA area people want to ride sometime let me know. \\;
I try to ride my bike to work a couple of times a week. The Tundra is getting costly to drive. Boss doesn't think it is professional to ride a the Sporty. Screw him!!!
I ride 60 miles each way to work.
I had not ridded in 25 years, so the first time back to riding, I avoided the highway and took back roads. - what a day !
I always leave a little early in the morning to allow plenty of time to enjoy the ride to work.
I ride to work every day that the weather is decent. \\; I have about a 15 mile run all two lane roads. \\; One stop sign and one traffic signal. \\; I love to be able to relax and enjoy the ride home after a bad day at work. \\; It really makes for a better home life. \\;
