I have a 2001 XL1200C with a hypercharger and SEII slipons.

I am on my second battery of the summer. It is starting to seem that this battery too is not holding a charge. I was able to get Auto Zone to give me a free replacement, but they will not do it again. What would cause my bike to possible not charge the battery? I will admit I did not buy the HD battery, but I do not think that is the issue. I bought a replacement non oem one from auto zone.
Have you checked your charging system? Put a volt meter on the battery terminals and with the engine running about 2500 the volt meter should read around 14.7 volts.
The battery is one of the only things I buy from the MoCo, the last one I had lasted 4.5 years, and I only started using a tender on it 2 years ago. I live in So. Utah and the temp in the summer is 105-110 most days. Can't beat those AGM batteries.
Sorry for the lecture +1 on checking the battery while bike is running. Check your service manual, they give you a couple of tests you can try.....might be the stator.
