kickstand question
i have an 06 1200c , Does every ones automaticly snap to the up position when you raise your bike off of it, reason i ask i let a girl sit on it saturday cause she really liked she stood it up and yup didnt know the kikstand came up and laid it over, was no big deal scratched the blinker i felt bad for her there on here back ina dress and tore up her finger.

So did you \\;pick up \\;your bike up first, or did you help the girl? How far from the bike were you when she stood it up? My goodness man......did you learn your lesson?

Oh, and yes, my kickstand does pop up and it's a '92. (wrong spring but hey, it works)

If I lean mine directly to the right it does not pop up but if I give the bike a slight forward motion while leaning it to the right it will pop up. Ive gotten into the habit of not moving the bike forward while raising the sidestand.

If you let someone sit on your bike who doesn't know what they are doing, you had best stand in front of them, straddle the front wheel, and be prepared to grab the bars if it starts to lean.

There is a tab welded on the back of my kick stand that the spring hooks to, I bent it forward about a 1/4 inch. Not sure if its suppose to go back up when you stand the bike up or not, but I don"t want it up until \\; \\;I kick it up. Its been working great since I did that. 95 sporty.

Yup. Mine snaps up when when girls sit on it too. Is this not supposed to happen?
