Default helmet lock

i am looking for a helmet lock to attach to my frame tube on the right side just above the VIN sticker and all that. I looked at the HD site and they list one, but for only up to 03s or 04s. I think the newer bikes might have thicker frame tubes? I dunno. Anybody have any suggestions for a good helmet lock for my 07 sporty custom?
thanks,
chad

I got the one in the catalog, it fits on the downtube on my bike, an 08. I didn't really want a lock, just a place to hang the helmet by the d-ring. If anyone wanted the helmet all that is necessary is to cut the strap.

the not-so-helpful guy at the dealership told me that lock wouldnt work. he told me to get a bicycle lock, to which I respectfully declined, since my bike looks freakin sweet. is there a gap in the lock at all, because i was thinking it would not fit that tube?

AFAIK the Harley locks work on most bikes. The only reason I haven't fitted mine is deciding where to put it

Very true.....

I don't wear a helmet, so I don't have to worry about it, but all helmet locks and cables do is to keep an honest person honest.

If someone want your helmet a small pair of bolt cutters will take care of any lock or cable in only a couple seconds. Even quicker is to just use your Buck 110 knife (or any other belt knife) and cut the straps. Not that difficult to have someone replace the helmet straps.

If you have a helmet the best thing to do is to take it with you, or at least keep it out of sight in a saddlebag, etc...

Interesting - I didn't know you could replace a helmet strap. I figured if someone cut it, the helmet became useless.

I've bought a Pacsafe Lidsafe and a couple of their other products which I intend to use at a rally where the bike will be in full view.

It's just a two piece device with screws and clamps around a tube. The key turns a fraction and the part that moves drops down to accept the d-ring. I would have rather just had a hook, but didn't want to weld one on the frame. It's unobtrusive (very important to me) on the left downtube behind the forks.
