Got my 16" apes
Hey all,
Ordered my crap......16' apes, spring solo seat, chrome controls and sampson rip saws........i'm pretty handy in the garage working on cars, trucks, snowmobiles exc.....haven't done much work on bikes YET.....getting the 16" apes and i know i'm going to need new cables.....my bike is a 02 1200C with the stock handlebars.....i'd like to go to braided lines......what did you guys have to change out? what kind of cables do you recomend?.....i also would like to wire everything through the handlebars to clean everything up on the front of the bike....anything i need to kno about that?

no problem.....i got the 16" apes new chrome controls but keeping the black caps....braided lines......old school spring solo seat.....sampson rip saws.....my bike has dagger front fender and taildrager rear fender.....solid chrome wheel, swingarm, and just about everythign else on the back.....i kept the alum. motor casings and heads for the old school look....lowered 2 inches.......should look pretty good.....i'll take some pics of it and post'em when i'm done

I think the apes and hand controls actually came today......this weekend i'm putting them on and i'll take some pics and post them......should be bad *** looking

i put new drag bars on my bike and ran the wireing thru the bars i just looked at it tonite and noticed that in getting some chaffing on the wires and thats only after 200 miles so be sure you make the hole plenty big and smooth it out real good (i thought i did) now im thinking about redoing it with mini apes so lets see some pics when your done

yea, i'm going to make sure the hole is big enough then i'm going to gramet the bars so the wires can't chaf on the metal.....and shrink tube them all.....i got the apes, chrome controls yesterday and i'm getting the new Big Guns II ripsaws today and the seat and seat kit should be here next weekend.....i put the bars up to the bike.....it's going to look pretty dam good....can't wait to dig into it later tonight....
