Default High flow AC with ham can?

Was ready to order PCIII and K&N kit from Fuelmoto but they emailed back that the K&N doesn't fit in the ham can, Jamie suggested that I get a SE kit from a local dealer.
Is the SE AC the only one that works with the original ham can?
(yes I know lots of people don't like the ham can but I do)

I thought the K&N kit worked with the stock ham can. On the K&N website, it doesn't show that a new cover comes with it, just a back plate and filter.

These instruction from their kit says to install the stock air filter cover in the last step. It is part number RK-3929 (http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=RK-3929).

Instructions: http://www.kandn.com/instructions/RK-3929_inst.pdf

Unless Jamie sales a different model, it should work.

Jamie's probably trying to sell you the K&N filter that fits the SE Heavy Breather. I believe K&N makes a filter that fits in the stock air cleaner also.

I had ordered this one: K&N RK-3909 air cleaner assembly, it comes with a velocity stack, you can see it at
http://fuelmotousa.com/harley_filter.htm
This is his email:
Hello, the K&N RK-3909 does not fit the Sportster, on your bike I would recommend the Screamin Eagle which is avail from the Harley dealer and they are approx $139.00. We do have the Power Commander III USB which we can program for your setup no problem. They are $279.00 + 32.00 USPS shipping. For more info or to order you can contact us at 877-729-4754

Thank you.........Jamie

He is right, the kit I found was the RK-3929. I don't know the difference from the K&N and the Stage I SE, but I know I have heard to many horror stories about the SE Stg I letting screws get sucked into the intake.

the difference is k&n also makes an a/c that is shaped and looks just liek the se a/c thats what jamie must mean. the round filter is probably too tall. but k&n also has one in the oval shape like the SE one

rdss: you are right, that's the kit I was looking for.
I agree about the SE kit, scares me, plus it's a non oiled filter so I question the quality compared to K&N.
I see you now have a Heavy Breather, was that more for looks or werent you happy with the RK-3929?
