Tweak,

Did you have to extend your wires at all or is there enough slack stashed away under the tank to accomodate the apes? Reason i ask is that after getting my drags in, I changed my mind and want to go with the RSD short stacks. I'm curious as to whether I have to extend my wires at all.

I've heard that some people didn't have to extend their wires when putting on the mini apes, but not sure if it makes a difference whether you internally wire them or not.

For the 12 inch apes, I had to extend all cables(I/T, clutch, brake). I also had to extend all the wires for the hand controls about 7 inches for the internal wiring(spliced and soldered). If you go with the 7 inch short stacks you should be ok for wires, but internal wiring would look best. If you go with the 12 inch new cables and wires is the only clean way to go IMO.

I almost went with the short stacks but decided against them.

I agree with you bro...I will be wiring them internally...its the only way to do it IMO too. Hopefully there will be enough slack to wire them internally. As far as the cables go with the short stacks, I believe I can use the stock and get away, but figure since I'm doing it, might as well go all the way once and get the black braided.

Why did you decide not to go with the short stacks? Just curious...maybe you know something I don't know about them.

p.s. Be proud of that bike man, sickest nightster I have ever seen!

Thanks..

I think the short stacks look sick off the bike, but I don't care for the lines once they are mounted on sportsters. IMO

Thats the great thing about making a bike your own, the only opinion that matters is your own.

How did you get the spokes red?

Powder coat, electrical tape, how did he do it?

It looks good!
