Tweakin, did you try putting taller risers on before swapping? I am planning on trying drags on the stock risers and if that doesn't work out I am going to try 4.5" risers. I would comment on your great looking bike, but I can't see the pics on the computer I am using now.
I had that issue when I first had the HD drag bar set up, but then got rid of the stock 4.5 inch risers and got 9.5 pullback risers, of which corrected that "leaning over" thing. Doing the pullback riser thing made the position very comfortable.
However this past spring, I made the mistake of sitting on a heritage and thought "man are these bars comfortable or what"?
They got sort of a modified "mini ape" thing going on. So I bought a pair of em'(take offs, look to be new) from the dealership for $25, and then had to get the 1.5 inch risers, and new grips. Haven't put them on yet though, not exactly sure when I will. Don't want to have to drop any more on cables, as just those alone can be pretty pricey.

I don't like the look of drags with tall or pull back risers at all (IMO). That is why I went with the apes.
After having the new bars for about a week I wish I would have went with them in the first place, they feel great.
Sweet!! Heck of a lookin good cycle. Apes finish off the look on your nightster! I'm sure when you are out riding you get lots of attention from people. I know I would sure stop and look at her! Got apes on my 05 custom. Same as you, back pain, apes were my solution also. Like I said, SWEET CYCLE!!! I'm jealous.
Dude, that looks kickass! Seriously, I think you have one of the best looking Sportys I've ever seen...even most rigid ground-up customs can't compete with that ****er.
