My wife's 07 1200L appears to have a small oil leak. The front cylinder, left front corner where the silver chromey valve cover meets the cylinder head. Its only small, enough to get the leg of her pants dirty but not enough to drip when parked. She's got 15,000 miles on the bike.
Harleys have a reputation for leaking, is this just one of those places that they leak and I shouldn't worry about it, or is this a cause for concern? Has anyone else's bike had this problem and how did you fix it?
Sounds like a valve cover gasket, should be under warranty if it's that bad.
Mine "weeps" just enough to collect a dust line after about 1000 miles, dealer doesn't want to change it for that but I would be fighting to get it changed if it was as bad as yours sounds.
i had the same problem on my 08. turned out to be a lower rocker box gasket. went from being a small leak to a larger leak in a hurry. fixed under warranty though.

Same thing happened to me except I had 2500 miles on my bike. It is the lower rocker cover gasket that is leaking. took it back to the dealer and they fixed it under warranty
Same. 10,400 miles on it. Will be fixed under warranty They'll replace both upper and lower gaskets. That better fix it because I have a MAJOR ride coming up...Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, just BARELY into California, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, and back home to Texas. Might not do all that, but 2,400 miles is about certain.
