Got the bike back, and wow, yeah, it's _so_ much louder now... almost to the point that I was getting a headache while riding around. Hopefully I'll get used to it soon. Also, there seemed to be less power than the bike used to have... I thought this "stage I" was supposed to increase power some?

IT should make a big improvment in the performance but the sound of the pipe's may be playing with you some too but you may want your dealer to look at it because it may be runnin to lean or rich. but just my .02 cents. and congrats on the pipe's.
Thanks. I should know for sure tomorrow -- going 2-up on the Hunt for Hope ride. Yeah, hopefully it's just the new sound making me think it's weaker... If not, it'll be going right back! One thing is for sure -- I love the very deep rumble I now have at the low rpm's!!

Hmmmm, well I haven't really gunned it yet -- I'll try that tomorrow. But I thought I read others saying thier performance improved throughout the spectrum?

You lost some low end torque with the upgrades, mid range out you gained some.
Well I just got back from about 80 mi of riding, both single and 2-up. She definitely has more power -- ****** is right, it's lost a little in the low end, but gained quite a bit in the mid > full throttle.
2 or 3 times it gave a backfire and loss of power when starting up from a red-light. Is that a problem or is that normal?
I noticed something else -- almost every other time I kill the engine after a ride, it grumbles and putts a couple or even a few times before it finally dies. Any ideas what this could mean?
