If Im not mistaken (which I am very often) if you keep your receipts for oil/filter/gaskets etc. and do the service yourself the warranty will still be upheld.

Someone jump in and correct me if I'm wrong but this is the impression I was under.

David.

Warranty has nothing to do with services. Its when something goes wrong and theres no Service Records of your scheduled maintence where it becomes an issue. We have people come in for 1k's and almost be pushing 2000 miles.

The big ones are 1, 5, and 10k services everything else in between is simple a motor oil change.

You don't have to go to h-d for your services... you don't actually have to keep records... in saying that... it would be a whole lot easier on you if you do keep receipts... just shove them in your owners manual evelope...

The "Big" services are a joke... you really don't get much more than an oil change anyway... despite what they tell you...

i agree, get the manual do your own service work. then you will know it was done right. there are horror stories on here about folks who take thier bike in and nothing is done to them. of course if they dont do thier own wrenching they would never know any different. if parts on your bike fail that are not related to an oil change or some other type of maintenance work, your warranty is good. remember if your speed sensor fails, or your front wheel falls off, it had nothing to do with when or if you changed your oil.

Just goes to show you how much you "think" you really know. We have a window in our service departments waterheads like you can watch to ensure were doing the work. But boy o boy when something does go wrong people like you think your intilted to the world and our best friends, you want to drive in and want it done NOW. Ha, get in line because youll be waiting for your bike for a while because i wont take a job with someone who wants to babysit me

With an attitude like that I don't think many people will be requesting personal service from your dealership. By the way, what is the name of your dealership?
