for those of you who did this, im asking for some input.
Are u happy you have done it?
Do i need anything special with this mod?
How long did it take?
Can i get some pics?
i will be doing this soon hopefully, as well as putting on a front spoiler
thank you
I'm about to do the wiring as well (internally wire the bars and hide the rest), but I will also be doing the coil and ignition relocation... interested to see what the front spoiler will look like as I was thinking about it too. Post some pics when you get it on thurr
I cut all the connectors on mine, then wire loomed it. Be aware this isnt a 10 minute job, either route you go youll be looking at least a day to do it nice and neat.
Juut a tip, if you unplug all the wires from their bulky deutsch connectors the pin/socket are left and will plug together creating a slim connection with no other connectors or soldering needed, just slip some heatshrink over it to keep it water tight before pluggin them together and all thats need should you need to unplug something is to slit the heatshrink vs. cutting a crimped or soldered joint.

Can you post pics and a shake down of how you did it? I can't wait to see the pics of your bike after you do it! they will be the determining factor of weather I do it.
I think the spoiler will look sweet! Haven't seen a nightster with one yet

yea i def will, and thank you to everyone for ur help so far.
I just did it today... really not that complicated.
Pull the tank, then expose all the wiring by taking off the plastic covers below the backbone. Take your time snipping the zip ties as they are pretty tight against the wires with not that much room to get your snips in. Once all the zip ties are cut, and the wires are exposed, unplug everything. If you are relocating your coils, unplug your spark plugs and disconnect the stock coil bracket. Move that down to where you want it and plug the spark plugs back in, now that they are free and clear from the rest of the wiring. Basically from here on out it's just a matter of positioning the wires on top of the backbone, plugging them back in together, and strap
ping them in place with a zip tie. I haven't strapped mine in place yet because I still need to wire my bars, but I'd imagine once you have everything lying neatly against the backbone there should be no problem fitting it all under the tank tunnel. I made some tank lifts which will give it more space anyways.
If you can unplug things and plug them back together then you can easily clean up your wiring... hope this helps! I'll take a few pics tomorrow
