I have a 04 xl 883 I bought this June. I put on cycle shack slip on turn out pipes with the crossover for around 110 and they sound great I also added the Screamin Eagle high flow air filter for another 100 it made a big difference in power. This weekend I just finished installing the nrhs 1250 conversion I haven't got to ride it yet, but it started right up and feels more powerful at idle hopefully tomorrow I can give it a test run I will try to give you more feed back later. I also installed the a 1200 Carb kit from Sorgy's for 20 bucks it smoothed out the idle don't know about the rest yet and it would be hard to rate since it went in the same time as I converted the bike.
I haven't customized my 883C yet, however I have a 1200 conversion in the plans, new slip on pipes and an S&S air cleaner kit. I like the looks of the classic teardrop air cleaner from them and it costs about $194.00.
I have Samson shorties and a hypercharger on mine. Seems to have most of its power up top now. Runs about 90mph effortlessly. Before you customize, think about where you want the power, low midrange or high. I think in hindsight I would have put more in the middle instead of the top end.
It's my undrstanding 1250 is as far as an 883 can go up. Is my info bad?
They don't spell it out on the web page anymore, but they use to say in the the big bore kit description that it was 1400 (85ci). Would have to e-mail them to find out how big the current kit is.
