Default Jetting

I have an 883/1200 with the SE intake and the SE pipes. If I replace the SE pipes with stock slide on mufflers will I need rejetting? If so is there a jet kit available to go in that direction? I prefer to avoid the dealer if possible. Thanks in advance.

No jet change should be necessary, the A/C has more impact on the Air/Fuel ratio than the pipes.

Did the jets get changes when you put on the big bore kit? If so, you may find that you are running to fat when you go back to the stock set up. If you have never changed them at all I would agree with Charley in that there would be no need to change them now.

A part of mu problem is that the bike wqas purchased used with the bore kit and the SE equipment already on it and the person who had the work done has died. So I have no left over jets to put back in. It runs great as is I just am not into the loudness thing.

If they did it right they likely changed the jets. You can put the new mufflers on and see how things go. The bike will let you know the rest.

Like I said before and assuming the bike is running good now, changing from SE pipes, which really aren't all that whiz bang performance anyway, back to the stock pipes pipes is going to make for little if any need to rejet. Worst case is that you may have to go down one size in the pilot jet but I really doubt that will be necessary.

Ok for future reference cHarley was right, mostly. There actually was a noticeable change, but for the better. A definate improvement in a much smoother take off from a dead stop. and I really felt like a crisper excelleration in general with less throttle movement. Haven't had a chance to ride any distance on the open road but was up to 60 or so and it felt strong. I feel like I have a better performing bike without all the racket. Nice mellow Harley notes now. Just my 2 cents there.

The SE slip ons were actually that much louder than stock? You must have the good SE II's that aren't made anymore right? I can't see how there could have been a noticeable gain in performance going from SE -> stock, but hey you did it.

Hey it wasn't what I was expecting either. And yes the SE was considerably louder. And contrary to what some have stated the stock mufflers do not sound like a honda.
