My lady friend has a 94' 1200 Sporty. She thought she had starter issues until she described what would happen - when its cold, it fires up. When its hot, sometimes nothing happens, sometimes its a slow crank speed. Battery is charged and holds a charge.
I remember something about wiring a relay so all the juice goes to the starter when you hit the start button.
Can somebody ping me with instructions or am I just imagining this? If you have another solution, thanks in advance!
That sounds more like the starter relay or perhaps the brushes in the starter itself expanding past their tolerances when it's hot. I would start with the starter relay itself and then pull the starting motor if a replacement relay doesn't work. Just pushing more amps at it won't solve the problem...

+1,
Also improper timing can cause similar problems when hot, not sure how adjustable the timing is on a 1994.
